On-Employment questionnaires are a core element of Occupational Health. Previously called Pre-Employment Questionnaires, they received their new name in 2010.
This service allows employers to ensure that someone has got right
support in place so that they can do a job safely. There is currently no legal
requirement to do this, but the process can prevent future problems which can
have serious implications – both in terms of cost and staff safety.
Having an external company carrying out the On-Employment Questionnaires enables staff to be more honest and share confidential information that they may have otherwise withheld, or simply not thought important enough to mention. Due to data protection, the initial questions are quite broad, but our specialist advisors can pick out the relevant information and then follow up with additional action if required. The On-Employment process means that you get access to the right information to ensure safety at work – resulting in a healthier and happier workforce.
It’s a useful process to go through with new starters as the surveys will highlight any issues that might need investigated further by Occupational Health. Similarly, when job roles change, the process can be carried out again in order to ensure that they are ‘fit for work’ and can deliver the new role safely.
Once the questionnaire has been completed, our team of specialists will review it and then certify the individual as ‘fit for work’ or identify any issues. Possible outcomes could be recommendations for:
- Workplace Assessments
- Ergonomics Assessments
- Provision for first aid facilities
- Ready access to toilets
- Plans for diabetics and what to do in an emergency
There are different levels of forms for different roles and sectors. Our advisers will ensure that your employees are sent the correct forms.
